The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ballarat Miners as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ballarat Miners defeated bottom-ranked Bendigo Braves in Wendouree 118-100. Ballarat Miners made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Ballarat Miners outrebounded Bendigo Braves 44-32 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Jack Davidson (-1998) who scored 32 points and 5 assists. Naturalized British swingman Adam Thoseby (197-1991, college: GSW) chipped in 29 points. Thoseby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Isaac Murphy (190-2002, college: UW-Fox Valley) produced 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Isaac Turner (190-1992, college: St.Vincent) added 26 points respectively for the guests. Four Ballarat Miners and five Bendigo Braves players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 6 other teams. Bendigo Braves at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 8 other teams. Bendigo Braves will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Ballarat Miners will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Thunder in Melbourne.
