Regular Season Round 10: NGC Seahawks - Cairns M. 98-90

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Seahawks (3-1) defeated 12th ranked Cairns Marlins (2-4) in Runaway Bay 98-90 on Saturday. Guard Aiden Krause (193-2000, college: UC Irvine) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Kody Stattmann (202-2000, college: Virginia) supported him with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four Seahawks players scored in double figures. Seahawks' coach Luke McGuire used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by the former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) did not help to save the game for Cairns Marlins. Guard Ky Stattmann (193-2003, college: Daytona St.) added 20 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Seahawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Logan T. and USC Rip. Cairns Marlins lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Dandenong R. and N.Adelaide R.. Seahawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cairns Marlins will play against South West Metro Pirates (#14) in Runcorn and hope to secure a win.
