Very expected game when 8th ranked Vikings (2-5) were smashed by top-ranked Hume City Broncos (7-0) in Melbourne 99-76 on Saturday. Hume City Broncos forced 19 Vikings turnovers. American guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and naturalized South Sudanese forward Makuei Puondak (203-1994, college: UT Southern) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Ray Mitchell (201-1989, college: CS Stanislaus) did not help to save the game for Vikings. Center Edward Bourke added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hume City Broncos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Loser Vikings keep the eighth place with five games lost. Hume City Broncos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vikings will play against Cougars (#5) and hope to secure a win.
