Big V top team - Flames (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Lightning (3-4) in Rockingham 108-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Lightning. Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Lightning's 34 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Flames forced 22 Lightning turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Tom Jervis (211-1987, college: Troy) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Flames players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Daniel Green (208-1992, college: Newman) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Dominic Jackson (203-1997, college: TAMIU) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Loser Lightning dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams.
