Very predictable result in Perth where ninth ranked Senators (3-2) edged bottom-ranked Eagles (0-6) 91-88 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Senators looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Caleb Davis (206-1995, college: SVSU) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and swingman Jay Thwaites (193-1996) chipped in 18 points. Senators' coach Luke Brennan used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Justin King (196-1989, college: TRU, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Taylor Young (190-1990, college: WPU) scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Eagles players scored in double figures. Senators moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Eagles still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Rockhampton R. and Western PS. Senators will meet at home Slammers (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
