Date: April 29, 2023
Very predictable result when first ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (8-1) rolled over 6th ranked Sharks (5-4) in Narrabeen 91-65 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Sharks outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 50-33 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her eight free throws) by the former international guard Lauren Nicholson (183-1993, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for Sharks. Forward Madeleine Norris (188-1998) added 21 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. Loser Sharks dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will meet at home Lady Bandits (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play against Bruins in Condell Park and hope to secure a win.
