Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Hawks (4-3) outplayed bottom-ranked Slammers (0-5) in Floreat 102-47 on Saturday. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 24. Hawks forced 45 Slammers turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Slammers' players. Forward Emma Clarke (186-2000, college: Colorado) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (188-1997) supported her with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by Alexis Donovan did not help to save the game for Slammers. Grace Adams added 10 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Slammers still closes the standings with five games lost. Hawks will meet Eagles (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Slammers will play against Senators (#8) in Perth and hope to get finally their first victory.
