No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Tigers (5-2) crushed 6th ranked Rockets (3-4) in Morphett Vale 83-61 on Saturday. Tigers outrebounded Rockets 48-35 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Mollie McKendrick (183-1993, college: Boston U.) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American forward Brittany Hernandez (185-1993, college: UCCS) supported her with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by guard Brooke Basham (178-1997) did not help to save the game for Rockets. The former international guard Lauren Mansfield (170-1989, college: Iowa St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with SW Metro P. and Sherbrooke S. Loser Rockets dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Tigers will meet league's second-placed Panthers in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rockets will play against Mavericks and hope to secure a win.
