Sabres dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 44. Sabres forced 26 Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 47-21 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Lions' players. Canadian forward Mikayla Williams (183, college: USF) notched 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and power forward Tayla Brazel (182-2004) supported her with 20 points and 5 steals. Five Sabres players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by American center Imani Guy (193, college: Marian, IN, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) did not help to save the game for Lions. Forward Tiahna Sears (178, college: N.Alabama) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sabres have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record, which they share with Bendigo LB and Joondalup W. Loser Lions still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Eastern M. and Sunbury J.. Sabres will meet at home Warriors (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lions will play against Bearcats in Woodville and hope to get finally their first victory.
