Everything could happen in East Burwood at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Spectres and 14th ranked Wildcats had identical 3-4 record. This time Spectres used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Eltham 74-71 on Saturday night. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Spectres made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU, agency: Elite Basketball Agents) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Emma Pearce chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Center Rebecca Pizzey (190-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and American swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Five Spectres and four Wildcats players scored in double figures. Spectres (4-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser Wildcats dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Spectres will meet Cavaliers (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Wildcats will play against Tigers (#15) and hope to secure a win.
