No shocking result in a game in Bendigo where leader Lady Braves (8-0) outleveled 13th ranked Chargers (3-5) 110-76 on Saturday. Lady Braves made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while Chargers only scored seven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Chargers 45-23 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lady Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Chargers' players. The best player for the winners was Meg Mccarthy who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-1984) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 19 assists. Five Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Lady Braves' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Paige Bradley (178-1994, college: Denver) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Kayla Steindl (190-1989, college: Gonzaga) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Lady Braves. They maintain first place with 8-0 record, which they share with Sturt S. Loser Chargers dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Lady Braves will meet at home Rangers (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
