No shocking result in a game in Cairns where tenth ranked Dolphins (4-5) smashed 14th ranked Meteorettes (2-7) 86-64 on Friday. Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Meteorettes' players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Shaneice Swain (175-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and Leichan Williams who added 20 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Dolphins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Davida Dale (180-1997, college: URI) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import center Brittany Reeves (196, college: Mercer) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Meteorettes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dolphins moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Meteorettes lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kilsyth LC. Dolphins will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Meteorettes will play against the league's second-placed Salties (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
