There was a surprise result in Cranbourne where eighteenth ranked Cavaliers (2-8) won against higher ranked Frankston Blues (6-4) 84-80 on Sunday. Cavaliers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Frankston Blues' 40. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand forward Esra McGoldrick (188-1999, college: NC State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Lauren Van Kleunen (188, college: Marquette) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Chloe Bibby (185-1998, college: Maryland) with 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Cavaliers moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Illawarra H. Loser Frankston Blues dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Cavaliers will meet Lady Cobras (#17) in the next round. Frankston Blues will play against Knox Raiders (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
