Rather expected game when 9th ranked Spectres (7-4) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked Geelong Supercats (6-4) 90-82 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Gabe Hadley (193-1998) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193-1992, college: SHSU, agency: IceBasket) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Will Carius (201, college: W.Illinois) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Jalen Gibbs (190-1999, college: JSU) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Geelong Supercats have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Spectres dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Geelong Supercats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spectres will play against Dandenong Rangers (#19) and hope to secure a win.
