There was an upset in Dandenong where higher ranked Spectres (5-6) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Rangers (6-7) 80-63 on Sunday. Center Nyadiew Puoch (189-2004) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-1990, college: Stanford) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Rangers players scored in double figures. Rangers' coach Larissa Anderson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international swingman Alice Kunek (185-1991, agency: LBM Management) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Emma Pearce scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Rangers moved-up to ninth place. Loser Spectres dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with McKinnon C. and Hobart C.. Rangers will meet at home Lady Cobras (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spectres will play against Tigers (#15) and hope to secure a win.
