There was no surprise in Hamilton Hill where 8th ranked Eagles (4-7) were crushed by leader Cougars (8-0) 94-60 on Sunday. Cougars dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 26. They outrebounded Eagles 61-26 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Jessie Edwards (193-1995, college: Minnesota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) chipped in 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Polish point guard Sylwia Bujniak (170-1996) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and Canadian swingman Madison Torresin (183-1996, college: W.Chester) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Cougars and four Eagles players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Cougars. They moved-up to second place. Loser Eagles dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Cougars will meet league's leader Wanneroo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Eagles will play against Magic (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
