Regular Season Round 19: Knox R. - Waverley F. 86-90

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Knox Raiders (8-4) against tenth ranked Waverley Falcons (6-5) on Sunday night. Host Knox Raiders were defeated by Waverley Falcons in a tough game in Wantirna South 86-90. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Knox Raiders. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Dillon Stith (201-1992, college: St.Vincent) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!). Guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (199-1991, college: WSU) accounted for 23 points and 6 assists for the winning side. American Wayne Stewart Jr (201, college: A&M-Commerce) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard KJ Feagin (185-1997, college: SDSU) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively for Knox Raiders in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Knox Raiders' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Waverley Falcons have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sydney C. and Hobart C. Loser Knox Raiders dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Joondalup W. and Sandringham S.. Waverley Falcons will meet at home Thunder (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Knox Raiders will play against Mount Gambier Pioneers (#8) in Mt Gambier and hope to secure a win.
