Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Bandits (6-7) were outscored by seventh ranked Falcons (7-4) in Broadmeadow 95-76 on Sunday. Falcons outrebounded Bandits 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Falcons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for forward Myles Cherry (203-1998, college: Lafayette) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds. American guard Anthony Gaines (193-1998, college: Siena) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American center Mike Parks Jr (206-1997, college: Memphis, agency: Haylett Sports) came up with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand guard Dylan Wilkie (191-2001) added 22 points respectively for Bandits in the defeat. Five Falcons and four Bandits players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Bandits keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Falcons will meet higher ranked Norths Soul Sports Bears (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bandits will play against Sydney City Comets (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
