Rather expected game in Mandurah where bottom-ranked Magic (0-11) was edged by twelfth ranked Slammers (2-9) 92-89 on Friday. Slammers dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Magic's 40 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Slammers forced 24 Magic turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Ben Stevens (206-1999, college: Laurier) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Buay Tuach (198-1995, college: LMU, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 24 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American DeQuan Abrom (188-1996, college: Belm.Abbey) responded with 37 points (!!!), 6 assists and 5 steals and his fellow American import forward Ray Turner (206-1990, college: Texas A&M) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Slammers moved-up to ninth place, which they share with C.District L. Loser Magic still closes the standings with 11 games lost. They share the position with Southern T.. Slammers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Magic will play against Flames (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
