No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Wildcats (7-5) crushed 14th ranked Tornadoes (4-8) in Launceston 97-61 on Saturday. Wildcats made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Louise Forsyth notched 32 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and center Rebecca Pizzey (190-1999) supported her with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Wildcats players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) did not help to save the game for Tornadoes. Guard Olivia West (168, college: UC Riverside) added 13 points for the hosts. Tornadoes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Wildcats have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Diamond VE and Ringwood H. Loser Tornadoes dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Wildcats will meet at home Cavaliers (#19) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Tornadoes will play against Frankston Blues (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
