There was no surprise when 6th ranked Eagles (5-6) were outleveled by second ranked Tigers (8-3) in Goodwood 72-53 on Saturday. Tigers had a 38-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Brittany Hernandez (185-1993, college: UCCS) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Morgan Yaeger (175-1998, college: Oregon) supported her with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by Cara Annetts did not help to save the game for Eagles. Jessica Simons added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Tigers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record having five points less than leader Wyndham D., which they share with Willetton T. and Mt Gambier. Loser Eagles dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. Tigers will meet Warriors (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Eagles will play against Mavericks in Mt. Barker and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
