Regular Season Round 20: Albury W.B. - Sydney C. 104-97
Date: May 27, 2023
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Albury where 10th ranked Sydney City Comets (6-7) were defeated by eleventh ranked Bandits (7-7) 104-97 on Saturday. Bandits made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jamir Coleman (204-1997, college: CCSU, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the other American import center Mike Parks Jr (206-1997, college: Memphis, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Parks Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Bandits players scored in double figures. The former international guard Wani Swaka (198-2001) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and center Johnny Crnogorac (216-1995, college: UTRGV, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Sydney City Comets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bandits moved-up to ninth place. Sydney City Comets lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Illawarra H. 2. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
