Everything went according to plan in Mt. Barker where fourth ranked South Adelaide Panthers (8-3) outleveled 8th ranked Eastern Mavericks (3-8) 95-63 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Eastern Mavericks' 26. They outrebounded Eastern Mavericks 51-39 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lloyd McVeigh (197-2003) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Alexander Starling (198-1989, college: BCU) who added 22 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four South Adelaide Panthers players scored in double figures. American forward Jack Hemphill (206-1999, college: SFC) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jasper Rentoy (180-2000) scored 9 points and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. South Adelaide Panthers moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Cockburn C. and Bellarine S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
