No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Mackay Meteors (7-4) smashed at home 12th ranked Cairns Marlins (5-6) 107-76 on Saturday. Mackay Meteors looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Isaac White (188-1998, college: CBU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 11 assists and American guard Tyler Williams (196-1996, college: San Diego) who added 23 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Mackay Meteors players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) responded with 20 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Lachlan Anderson (206-1997, college: EKU) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mackay Meteors moved-up to fourth place, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and Kalamunda ES. Loser Cairns Marlins dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Goldfields G.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
