Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Geelong Supercats (7-4) lost to top-ranked Lady Braves (12-0) in Bendigo 75-92 on Saturday. Lady Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Swingman Amy Atwell (183-1998, college: Hawaii) notched 32 points to lead the effort and Meg Mccarthy supported her with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by guard Chantel Horvat (185-1998, college: UCLA) did not help to save the game for Geelong Supercats. Guard Sarah Elsworthy (171-1998) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Lady Braves have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-0 record. Loser Geelong Supercats keep the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Logan T. and S.Adelaide P.. Lady Braves will meet at home Cavaliers (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Geelong Supercats will play against Thunder (#16) in Melbourne and hope to secure a win.
