There was no surprise when 13th ranked Eagles (2-12) lost to tenth ranked Lightning (6-8) in Morley 79-87 on Friday. Lightning outrebounded Eagles 47-36 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Hayden Brown (196-1998, college: S.Carolina) nailed 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Rowan Mackenzie (190-1999, college: LCU) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Lightning's coach Mike Malat used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Taylor Young (190-1990, college: WPU) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH) added 15 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Eagles in the defeat. Lightning moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sydney C. and NW Tasmania. Loser Eagles keep the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
