Very predictable result in Sutherland where sixth ranked Sharks (9-5) smashed 16th ranked Spireds (1-14) 106-61 on Saturday. Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Spireds' 20. They outrebounded Spireds 56-42 including 17 on the offensive glass. Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Spireds' players. The best player for the winners was forward Madeleine Norris (188-1998) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Lauren Nicholson (183-1993, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 24 points and 8 assists. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. Sharks' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Kristina Moore (185-1999, college: Georgetown) who recorded 26 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Tylah Mundine (172-1999) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sharks. They maintain sixth place with 9-5 record. Loser Spireds keep the sixteenth position with 14 games lost.
