Everything went according to plan when second ranked Bulls (12-2) outplayed 11th ranked Sydney City Comets (6-8) in Alexandria 104-71 on Saturday. Bulls outrebounded Sydney City Comets 46-32 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized New Zealand guard Tony Tolovae (196-1992) notched 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and American power forward Chris Bryant (203-1992, college: Miami, OH) supported him with 24 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by Archie Woodhill (206-2001) did not help to save the game for Sydney City Comets. Point guard Matthew Wacher (180-2003) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bulls maintains second position with 12-2 record having just 2 victories less than leader Frankston B., which they share with Gold Coast R. Sydney City Comets lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
