No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Salties (7-6) beat 14th ranked Townsville Heat (3-11) in Darwin 102-84 on Saturday. Salties forced 24 Townsville Heat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The former international swingman Makuach Maluachx (200-1998, college: N.Mexico) notched 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Sean Macdonald (185-2000) supported him with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Luca Yates (208-2004, college: Barry) did not help to save the game for Townsville Heat. Guard Ethan Betts (188-1998, college: Umpqua CC) added 23 points for lost side. Five Salties and four Townsville Heat players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
