Regular Season Round 23: Kalamunda ES - Rockingham F. 84-124

Everything went according to plan in Kalamunda where second ranked Flames (11-3) outleveled 7th ranked Suns (7-6) 124-84 on Saturday. Flames shot 62.9 percent from the field. Flames had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 23 long-distance shots on high 62.2 percentage. Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Suns' players. It was a great evening for American guard Devondrick Walker (196-1992, college: A&M-Commerce) who led his team to a victory scoring 41 points (!!!). Forward Justin Beard (196-1996) helped adding 20 points and 7 assists. Four Flames players scored in double figures. New Zealand guard Joe Cook-Green (185-1997, college: TxWes) responded with 22 points and American swingman Albert Almanza (198, college: SHSU) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Frankston B. and Norths B. Loser Suns dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Mackay M.. Flames will meet Wanneroo (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Suns will play against Buccaneers and hope to secure a win.
