Regular Season Round 23: SW Slammers - Goldfields G. 94-81

There was a minor upset in Bunbury where 11th ranked Giants (5-10) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Slammers (3-10) 94-81 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American swingman Buay Tuach (198-1995, college: LMU, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian forward Ben Stevens (206-1999, college: Laurier) helped adding 16 points and 15 rebounds. Slammers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Jerome Reid (195-1996) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Michael Dupree (185, college: Northwest) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Slammers moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Blackburn V. and Cent.Coast C. Giants lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Slammers will meet at home league's second-placed Hawks in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giants will play against Lightning (#8) and hope to secure a win.
