Regular Season Round 23: USC Rip - Northside W. 86-85

There was a small surprise in Sippy Downs where eleventh ranked Rip City (5-7) edged 8th ranked Northside Wizards (6-6) 86-85 on Saturday. Rip City made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for the former international guard Matthew Kenyon (196-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized Sudanese forward Kouat Noi (201-1997, college: TCU) helped adding 19 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman Andrew White III (200-1993, college: Syracuse) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Kyle Zunic (188-1999, college: Winthrop) scored 17 points and 8 assists. Four Rip City and five Northside Wizards players scored in double figures. Northside Wizards' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Rip City moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Norwood F. Northside Wizards lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with SC Phoenix and Cairns M.. Rip City will meet Phoenix (#8) in the next round. Northside Wizards will play against South West Metro Pirates in Runcorn and hope to secure a win.
