Regular Season Round 23: NGC Seahawks - Darwin S. 98-82

There was a small surprise in Runaway Bay where seventh ranked Seahawks (7-5) defeated 5th ranked Salties (7-7) 98-82 on Sunday. Seahawks dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Salties' 38. It was a great evening for naturalized Sudanese power forward Majok Majok (210-1992, college: Ball St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Biwali Bayles (185-2002, college: Hawaii) helped adding 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Makuach Maluachx (200-1998, college: N.Mexico) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized South Sudanese power forward Deng Riak (208-1995, college: Akron) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seahawks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and Woodville W. Salties lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
