We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked North Bears (12-3) defeated 3rd placed BA CoE (12-5) in Crows Nest 92-87 on Sunday. North Bears forced 21 BA CoE turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Jolene Anderson (173-1986, college: Wisconsin) nailed 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and swingman Emily Simons (178-1994, college: Pacific) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Jayda Clark (183-2005) came up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and center Isla Juffermans (191-2005) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for BA CoE in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. North Bears have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Waverley F. and Willetton T. BA CoE lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. North Bears will meet Nationals (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BA CoE will play against Hills Hornets (#15) in Baulkham Hills and hope to secure a win.
