There was no surprise when 19th ranked Cavaliers (2-14) lost to eleventh ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (8-8) in Greensborough 88-92 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Diamond Valley Eagles made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Cavaliers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Jade Compton (178, college: Presbyterian) nailed 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import forward Allison Day (185, college: BGSU) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds. Taylah Simmons (185-1997, college: Southeastern) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Rachel Bell (178, college: Vanderbilt) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Cavaliers in the defeat. Five Diamond Valley Eagles and four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sandringham S. Cavaliers lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 14 games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will meet Thunder (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cavaliers will play against the league's second-placed Falcons and will have a slim chance for a victory.
