Very expected game when 7th ranked Vikings (4-11) were smashed by third ranked Devils (10-4) in Melbourne 113-82 on Sunday. Devils shot the lights out from three sinking 22 long-distance shots on high 51.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American point guard Maurice Howard (185-1997, college: Alcorn St., agency: Green Sports Management) nailed 28 points and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Adetomi Ayilara (208-1998, college: Cloud County) accounted for 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Howard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Devils players scored in double figures. American guard Ray Mitchell (201-1989, college: CS Stanislaus) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Denzel Brito (185-1991, college: Loyola, MD) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for Vikings in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Devils maintains third place with 10-4 record behind leader Rockingham F., which they share with Perth R. and Ipswich F. Loser Vikings keep the seventh position with 11 games lost.
