No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (9-7) beat 18th ranked Cavaliers (3-13) in Greensborough 96-81 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Cavaliers' players. Forward BJ Symons (-1998) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American Mandrell Worthy (191-1996, college: Azusa Pacific) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists. Worthy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach Trevor Lee used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Patrick Emilien (201-1999, college: Maryland) came up with 26 points and 9 rebounds and American-Kenyan forward Preston Bungei (198-1995, college: Norfolk St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cavaliers in the defeat. Five Diamond Valley Eagles and four Cavaliers players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Joondalup W.
