There was no surprise in Northbridge where 12th ranked Redbacks (1-14) were outplayed by second ranked Wanneroo (13-2) 96-70 on Friday. Wanneroo dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Redbacks' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Redbacks' players. The best player for the winners was forward Teige Morrell who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Forward Isabelle Miotti (178-1998) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Wanneroo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Brooke Malone (185-2003, college: Idaho) who recorded 18 points and the former international guard Mikayla Pirini (169-1996) added 16 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bulleen B. and Northside W. Redbacks lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Wanneroo will meet at home Senators (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Redbacks will play against the league's leader Cougars (#1) in Hamilton Hill and hope to win that game.
