Very expected game in Canberra where 9th ranked Nationals (8-8) were defeated by third ranked North Bears (13-3) 94-80 on Saturday. North Bears had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Carla Pitman (180-2004) who scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Madeleine OHehir (179-1997) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. North Bears' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Lizzy Tonks (173, college: CSUN) who recorded 26 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Isabelle Bourne (188-2000, college: Nebraska) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively.
