We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Mt. Barker where ninth ranked Mavericks (2-12) outscored 8th ranked Warriors (4-10) 100-57 on Saturday. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Warriors' 46. Mavericks forced 20 Warriors turnovers and had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Mavericks especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Warriors' players. The best player for the winners was point guard Taylah Levy (165, college: CSU) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists. American-Ugandan guard Jannon Otto (183-1997, college: UC Riverside) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Mavericks players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Nicole Fransson (188, agency: DC Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Chelsea Apacible added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mavericks maintains ninth position with 2-12 record. Warriors lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Mavericks will meet Lions (#10) in the next round. Warriors will play against Flames in Marden and hope to secure a win.
