Rather predictable result in Floreat where third ranked Tigers (14-3) outscored 6th ranked Hawks (11-7) 98-79 on Friday. Tigers made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Tigers outrebounded Hawks 59-32 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Bosnian Melisa Brcaninovic (193-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). The former international swingman Alexandra Sharp (182-1997, college: Wake Forest) helped adding 22 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (188-1997) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Millicent McCarthy (165-2002) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Five Tigers and four Hawks players scored in double figures. Hawks' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Tigers. They moved-up to second place. Loser Hawks keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Maitland M. and Darwin S.. Tigers will meet at home league's leader Cougars in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hawks will play against Flames (#4) in Rockingham and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
