No shocking result in a game in Hamilton Hill where first ranked Cougars (15-1) smashed 12th ranked Redbacks (1-16) 124-55 on Saturday. Cougars dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Redbacks' 36. Cougars forced 31 Redbacks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Guard Jewel Williams (168-2001) helped adding 21 points and 6 assists. Five Cougars players scored in double figures. At the losing side Dajah Daniel responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Briana Bailey scored 12 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cougars maintains first place with 15-1 record. Redbacks lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Cougars will meet at home Giants (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redbacks will play against Eagles in Morley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
