There was no surprise in Cairns where 7th ranked Dolphins (9-8) were crushed by fourth ranked Cyclones (12-5) 91-60 on Saturday. Cyclones dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Dolphins' 32. It was a great evening for American guard Lauren Heard (175-1999, college: TCU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Her fellow American import center Samantha Bowman (188, college: CWU) helped adding 30 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). At the losing side swingman Taylor Mole (188, college: UCSB) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jennifer Coleman (175-1998, college: Navy) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Dolphins players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Cyclones. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Rockingham F. Loser Dolphins dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Townsville F.. Cyclones will meet at home Seahawks (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dolphins will play against the league's leader Wizards and hope to secure a win.
