There was a minor upset in Seaford where their close opponent Frankston Blues (13-6) were defeated by fifth ranked Geelong Supercats (13-5) 78-69 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for center Ella Tofaeono (190, college: Texas Tech) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Sarah Elsworthy (171-1998) helped adding 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks and New Zealand guard Micaela Cocks (175-1986, college: Oregon) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Geelong Supercats. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Mt Gambier. Loser Frankston Blues keep the fifth position with six games lost. Geelong Supercats will meet at home Ballarat Miners (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Frankston Blues will play against Spectres (#13) in East Burwood and hope to secure a win.
