Everything went according to plan in Mt Gambier where fourth ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (13-5) outscored 18th ranked Dandenong Rangers (3-16) 90-71 on Sunday. Mount Gambier Pioneers forced 26 Dandenong Rangers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Nick Marshall (196-1999, college: Clarke) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Austin Shelley (190-2002, college: WT) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Mount Gambier Pioneers players scored in double figures. Haitian-American power forward Mike Amius (201-1996, college: WCU) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and guard Jack Roberts (196-1999, college: SVSU) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests.
