The game between third ranked Norths Soul Sports Bears (13-5) and eighth ranked Falcons (11-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Norths Soul Sports Bears were defeated by Falcons in Broadmeadow 68-57. Naturalized British forward Ryan Beisty (200-1995, college: Regis Univ.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American guard Anthony Gaines (193-1998, college: Siena) chipped in 19 points. Guard Robert Moore (186-2002) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Lewis Holey (196-1994, college: St.Francis, IL) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcons moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Waverley F. and Perth R. Norths Soul Sports Bears at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Mt Gambier. Falcons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Norths Soul Sports Bears will play at home against the league's second-placed Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
