Very expected game in Loganholme where 7th ranked Salties (9-9) were crushed by second ranked Thunder (14-2) 97-75 on Sunday. Thunder looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was South Sudanese forward Majok Deng (205-1993, college: ULM) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. Guard Boston Mazlin (189-2002) chipped in 23 points. Five Thunder players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Makuach Maluachx (200-1998, college: N.Mexico) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Jerron Jamerson (194-1992, college: Goshen) added 21 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder maintains second place with 14-2 record having just two point less than leader Rockingham F. Loser Salties dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Thunder will meet South West Metro Pirates (#5) in the next round. Salties will have a break next round.
