Very predictable result in East Burwood where top-ranked Lady Braves (20-0) outscored 14th ranked Spectres (8-13) 105-72 on Saturday. Lady Braves made 30-of-38 free shots (78.9 percent) during the game, while Spectres only scored eight points from the stripe. Lady Braves had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Amy Atwell (183-1998, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and Meg Mccarthy who added 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU) responded with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import Devon Brookshire (190-1994, college: SMC, agency: DC Sports) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lady Braves have an impressive 20-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-0 record. Spectres lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Lady Braves will meet Knox Raiders (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spectres will play against Hawks and hope to secure a win.
