Not a big story in a game in East Burwood where 14th ranked Spectres (8-13) were edged by fourth ranked Frankston Blues (15-6) 92-91 on Sunday. Frankston Blues forced 20 Spectres turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of New Zealand guard Micaela Cocks (175-1986, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) who added 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international swingman Alice Kunek (185-1991, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) and American Devon Brookshire (190-1994, college: SMC, agency: DC Sports) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Frankston Blues and four Spectres players scored in double figures. Spectres' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Frankston Blues have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 15-6 record. Spectres lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. Frankston Blues will meet at home Sabres (#7) in the next round. Spectres will play against Hawks (#6) and hope to secure a win.
