There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Tornadoes (9-13) lost to fifteenth ranked Chargers (8-14) in Hobart 69-83 on Friday. Chargers made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Tornadoes turnovers. American forward Kayla Steindl (190-1989, college: Gonzaga) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Cori Coleman (173-1993, college: CSU) accounted for 25 points and 6 assists. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. Guard Olivia West (168, college: UC Riverside) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Micah Simpson (175-2002) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Tornadoes in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chargers maintains fifteenth place with 8-14 record. Loser Tornadoes keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Nunawading S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
